Things to do in Begumpet & Somajiguda

Begumpet and Somajiguda form the business strip between Hussain Sagar and Ameerpet, linking Hyderabad with Secunderabad. Hotels on Raj Bhavan Road and Begumpet's main road host conferences, exhibitions-cum-sales, food promotions and New Year's Eve galas, and malls and showrooms around Punjagutta add festive shopping events. The old Begumpet Airport is used for aviation shows, and the grounds of the Hyderabad Public School and nearby clubs take school fests, sports days and community carnivals. Both metro lines touch the area, at Begumpet on the Blue Line and Punjagutta on the Red Line, which makes it one of the easier central districts to reach.
