Hyderabad reads and recites in Telugu, Urdu, Hindi and English, and its literary calendar reflects that. The Hyderabad Literary Festival, free to attend, returns for its seventeenth edition on 22–24 January 2027 at Sattva Knowledge City. The Hyderabad Book Fair is usually held in December at NTR Stadium near Indira Park; its 2026 dates had not been announced at the time of writing. Between the big events, Lamakaan in Banjara Hills hosts book discussions, reading circles, Telugu literary evenings and Urdu mushairas almost every week, and Ravindra Bharathi and Sundarayya Vignana Kendram stage Telugu book launches and felicitations.
