About Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium

Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium at Uppal is Hyderabad's international cricket ground and the headquarters of the Hyderabad Cricket Association. It has staged one-day internationals since 2005 and Test matches since 2010, and it hosted games at the 2023 Cricket World Cup. In the IPL it is the home of Sunrisers Hyderabad, and before them the Deccan Chargers. The stadium was designed for 55,000 spectators, though the match-day capacity is listed at about 39,200. Almost every ticketed event here is cricket: IPL fixtures from March to May, India internationals when the city is allotted one, and domestic matches. Stadium station on the Blue Line stands next to the ground.
