About Parade Grounds, Secunderabad
The Parade Grounds are Secunderabad's main maidan, an army-owned open ground beside the Jubilee Bus Station. The state's Republic Day parade and Telangana formation day celebrations are held here. For visitors, the big draw is the International Kite and Sweet Festival that Telangana Tourism stages at Sankranti. The 2026 edition ran from 13 to 15 January, with 40 international kite flyers from 19 countries, 55 flyers from Indian states, LED kites after dark and more than 60 stalls of homemade sweets, and it was followed by a hot-air balloon festival from 16 to 18 January. The grounds also host exhibitions, sports events and large public meetings.
