About B.M. Birla Science Centre & Planetarium
The B.M. Birla Science Centre sits on Naubat Pahad, the hill it shares with the marble Birla Mandir, above the Secretariat and Hussain Sagar. The planetarium was inaugurated in 1985 and is the oldest part of the complex. The science museum wing followed in 1990 with hands-on exhibits, the Dinosaurium opened in 2000 around a mounted dinosaur skeleton excavated in Telangana, and a Space Museum was added in July 2019. An art gallery completes the campus. For families this is one of the most dependable indoor outings in Hyderabad, and the centre also runs sky-watching sessions, science talks and school programmes. Sky shows play in several languages on a fixed daily schedule.
