Things to do in Secunderabad

Secunderabad, Hyderabad's twin city north of Hussain Sagar, grew up as a British cantonment and still has its own calendar. The Ujjaini Mahakali temple hosts Lashkar Bonalu, the biggest single day of the Bonalu season, followed by the Rangam oracle the next morning. Hari Hara Kala Bhavan on Sardar Patel Road is the municipal auditorium for plays, music and school events, and garden venues along the same road run some of the city's best-known dandiya nights. Churches such as St Mary's Basilica and St John's draw large Christmas congregations, and General Bazaar is a festival shopping street. Both the Blue and Green Lines serve the area.
