Things to do in Kompally & Medchal Road

Kompally, north of Secunderabad on the Nagpur highway, has grown into the weekend district for the northern suburbs. Its convention halls, lawns and resorts host weddings, exhibitions and some of the larger ticketed dandiya and Navratri nights in the city, and restaurants and breweries along the highway run live music at weekends. Further out, the lake and resorts at Shamirpet are used for corporate outings, college festivals and New Year parties. There is no metro on this side of the city; buses and cabs run up National Highway 44 from Paradise and Secunderabad, and most people drive.
