Best Live Music and Comedy Venues in Hyderabad (2026 Guide)
Updated 2026-10-12 · 7 min read · by the hyderabad2go team
Hyderabad’s live circuit is easy to read once you sort it by size. Stadium concerts play Gachibowli, arena tours and big-name comedians book Shilpakala Vedika or HICC, bands and DJs work the bars of Jubilee Hills and Kondapur, and stand-up lives in a handful of café rooms in Gachibowli, Jubilee Hills and Film Nagar. This guide covers the venues that matter in 2026, what each is good for and how to get there. For dates, see our live music listings and comedy listings.

The big rooms
G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium, Gachibowli
When an act is too big for a hall, it plays Gachibowli Stadium. The outdoor arena, built for the 2003 Afro-Asian Games and renovated in 2024, hosted composer Anirudh’s first Hyderabad concert on 21 March 2026 and a three-day food festival with live music in October. Entry is by gate number, security is airport-style and the Old Mumbai Highway jams before and after. There is no metro in Gachibowli, so take the Blue Line to Raidurg and a cab from there. The indoor stadium in the same complex takes arena shows; check which of the two your ticket names.
Hyderabad International Convention Centre
HICC, attached to the Novotel at Izzat Nagar, has a pillar-less hall that holds up to 6,000 people. Promoters use it for film-music concerts, international acts on India tours and comedy specials that outgrow an auditorium. Seating plans change with every show, so look at the layout on the ticket page before you choose a category. The neighbouring HITEX grounds are used for open-air concerts.
Shilpakala Vedika, Madhapur
With about 2,500 seats, Shilpakala Vedika is the default stop for touring stand-up comedians and a regular choice for concerts, dance productions and Telugu film events. It sits next to the Shilparamam crafts village, between HITEC City and Kondapur. Shows here sell out early. The approach road is slow on weekday evenings, so allow extra time.
Ramoji Film City and other grounds
For the largest touring productions, promoters also use the open grounds at Ramoji Film City on the Vijayawada highway and hotel and convention lawns near the airport. These are far from the city, with no public transport late at night. Check the organiser’s shuttle and parking plan before you buy.
Clubs and gig bars
Quake Arena, Kondapur
Quake Arena opened in 2024 and gave the western suburbs a large indoor club. It has seated and standing areas under a ceiling of LED screens, and DJ Mag included it in its Top 100 Clubs list for 2026. The programme leans on touring names. The electronic festival brand ZAMNA played here on 4 October 2026, and Punjabi, Bollywood and hip-hop headliners fill the weekends. Listings state 21 and over. Tickets are sold in phases that get costlier as the date approaches.
The Moonshine Project, Jubilee Hills
The Moonshine Project on Road No. 82 is one of the busiest gig rooms in the city, with touring indie bands, singer-songwriters, hip-hop and electronic nights listed through 2026 and into 2027. The same team runs EXT, which hosted an NH7 Weekender express edition in June 2026, so read the listing for the exact address.
Tabula Rasa, Jubilee Hills
Tabula Rasa was founded in 2017 to back Hyderabad’s independent musicians, and it still books blues, jazz, classic rock, indie pop, Telugu folk and metal alongside DJ nights. Its Sunday Playground is an open jam where musicians sit in with each other. The bar is open-air, which makes it a winter favourite. In the monsoon, check that a gig is going ahead.
Cafés and breweries
Beyond the named stages, breweries and cafés across Jubilee Hills, HITEC City and Gachibowli run acoustic sets, tribute nights and karaoke, mostly from Thursday to Sunday. They are listed on our nightlife page as they are announced.
Comedy rooms
Comedians rate Hyderabad highly. A Deccan Chronicle feature quoted several of them calling it India’s safest bet for a show, and popular tour stops here sell quickly. The big names go to Shilpakala Vedika. The week-to-week scene runs in small rooms.
Heart Cup Coffee, Jubilee Hills
Heart Cup Coffee, at Plot No. 1179 on Road No. 45, is the home of the Hyderabadass Comedy Club. The collective grew out of the city’s open mics and counts more than fifteen local comics who have opened for touring acts. Expect line-up shows, open mics and music nights, with food and drinks served through the set.
The Comedy Theatre, Gachibowli
The Comedy Theatre is a dedicated stand-up room, small enough that every seat is close to the stage. Touring comics use it for trial shows, and local comics run curated nights and open mics. Listings show weekday shows from about 8 pm and weekend shows from about 2 pm.
Aaromale, Film Nagar
Aaromale is a café and performance space in the film industry’s own neighbourhood. It hosts stand-up most weeks, with curated shows listed from about ₹499, plus open mics for comics, poets and musicians.
Other rooms
The Street Comedy Club lists regular shows and open mics from about ₹199, and breweries add comedy nights on weekdays. Rangbhoomi Spaces in Gachibowli and Lamakaan in Banjara Hills programme improv, storytelling and the occasional stand-up evening. Our open mic guide tracks them all.
Classical and devotional music
Hyderabad’s classical audience has its own halls. Ravindra Bharathi at Lakdikapul, opened in 1961, stages Carnatic and Hindustani recitals, light music and dance most evenings, and many programmes are free. Sri Tyagaraya Gana Sabha in Chikkadpally is the old sabha for Carnatic concerts and harikatha. In winter, Taramati Baradari near Golconda uses its open-air auditorium, which holds about 1,600 people, for music and dance festivals.
What the next few months look like
The outdoor season has just begun. Between now and February, expect stadium and open-ground concerts on the big weekends, classical festivals at Taramati Baradari and Ravindra Bharathi, and club tours filling Kondapur and Jubilee Hills. Hyderabad Comic Con, on 11–13 December 2026 at Bharat Future City, puts live music and stand-up on its stage alongside the cosplay. New Year’s Eve falls on a Thursday, and almost every venue in this guide will sell a ticketed countdown, with an early finish if the police repeat last year’s 1 am deadline. In January, the Hyderabad Literary Festival adds free evening performances. Promoters often announce tours at short notice, so check the listings regularly.
Practical tips
- Buy from the official link. Promoters name one ticketing partner per show. Resale offers on social media for sold-out nights are the most common scam.
- Check the language. Comedy runs in English, Hindi and Telugu. The ticket page says which.
- Carry photo ID. Bars and clubs check age, and several ask for original documents.
- Plan the ride home. The last metro trains leave the terminal stations at about 11 pm. After a late show in Jubilee Hills, Kondapur or Gachibowli you will need a cab, and prices surge when a big venue empties.
- Arrive early for small rooms. Seating at café shows is first come, first served, and latecomers may not be let in once a set begins.
- Mind the season. Open-air venues are at their best from October to February.
