About G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium (Gachibowli Stadium)
The G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium, usually just called Gachibowli Stadium, is the outdoor arena of the sports complex built beside IIIT Hyderabad for the 2003 Afro-Asian Games. It is owned by the Sports Authority of Telangana State, has a football pitch inside an eight-lane athletics track, and was renovated in 2024. Football is its regular sport: it was Hyderabad FC's home ground until 2025 and now hosts Sreenidi Deccan. It is also the city's main stadium-concert venue and the finish line of the Hyderabad Marathon every August. In 2026 it staged a drone show during the Sankranti festivities, composer Anirudh's first Hyderabad concert in March and a three-day food festival in October.
