Things to do in Hussain Sagar & Necklace Road

Hussain Sagar, the 16th-century lake between Hyderabad and Secunderabad, is the city's public events ground. Tank Bund, NTR Marg and Necklace Road ring the water, and almost every large free gathering happens here: the Saddula Bathukamma procession and immersion, the Ganesh immersion with its cranes along NTR Marg, Republic Day and state formation day shows, and New Year's Eve crowds. People's Plaza on Necklace Road is the start line of the Hyderabad Marathon and a regular site for exhibitions, food festivals and concerts. Lumbini Park, NTR Gardens and Sanjeevaiah Park add family outings, and boats run to the Buddha statue in the lake.
