Exhibition ground

The Exhibition Grounds at Nampally, about 23 acres beside the Hyderabad Deccan railway station, are the home of Numaish, the All India Industrial Exhibition. The fair began in 1938 at Public Gardens with about 50 stalls, an idea of the Osmania Graduates Association's economic committee, and moved here in 1946. It runs every year from 1 January to 15 February, organised by the All India Industrial Exhibition Society.

Come by metro. Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally stations are next to the grounds, and police divert traffic around Nampally every evening during Numaish. Weekday evenings before 7 pm are the calmest. Weekends and the last ten days are packed. Carry cash in small notes alongside UPI; bargaining is normal at the clothing, dry-fruit and handicraft stalls.
