About Ramoji Film City
Ramoji Film City is a film studio complex and theme park at Abdullapurmet, on the Vijayawada highway east of Hyderabad. The media proprietor Ramoji Rao opened it in 1996, and in 2005 Guinness World Records recognised it as the world's largest film studio complex. It covers about 2,000 acres, with 47 sound stages and permanent sets that range from a railway station and an airport to Mughal-style gardens and the Mahishmati sets from the Baahubali films. Around 15 lakh tourists visit each year. Day tours run by bus, with live shows, a bird park and rides. The park also programmes its own festive seasons, with Dasara and dandiya evenings, Diwali, winter and New Year's Eve events.
