Bathukamma & Dasara 2026 in Hyderabad

Bathukamma 2026 runs from Saturday 10 October to Sunday 18 October, the dates announced by the Telangana government, and Dasara (Vijayadashami) follows on Tuesday 20 October. Bathukamma is Telangana's flower festival and a state festival since 2014. For nine days women stack seasonal flowers such as gunugu, tangedu and marigold into cone-shaped arrangements, sing and clap in circles around them each evening, and immerse them in lakes and tanks on the final day, Saddula Bathukamma. Each day has its own name and food offering, starting with Engili Pula Bathukamma on Mahalaya Amavasya. In Hyderabad the finale is at Hussain Sagar. On 18 October a procession is expected to move in the late afternoon from the Telangana Martyrs' Memorial opposite the Secretariat to Tank Bund, with celebrations through the evening and immersion at the lakeside ghat; some almanacs place Saddula Bathukamma a day later, on Durgashtami. Colonies, colleges and offices hold their own Bathukamma evenings all week. In parallel, Navratri brings ticketed dandiya and garba nights to garden venues in Secunderabad, convention lawns in Kompally and the IT corridor, and Ramoji Film City. This page lists Bathukamma, dandiya and Dasara events across Hyderabad.
