About Taramati Baradari
Taramati Baradari is a Qutb Shahi pavilion on a rise in Ibrahim Bagh, the Persian-style garden laid out near the Musi under the Golconda sultans. The open pavilion has twelve doorways, built to let the breeze through. Legend links it to Taramati, a singer and dancer at the court of Abdullah Qutb Shah, whose voice was said to carry from here to the fort about two kilometres away. The tourism department has developed the site as a cultural complex with an open-air auditorium for about 1,600 people, an air-cooled theatre for 500, a banquet hall and a restaurant. It hosts classical music and dance festivals, heritage events, weddings and corporate evenings, mostly between October and February.
